Yaks n Yetis at the bottom of town is a firm favourite in Ross-on-Wye and serves excellent Nepalese and Tibetan cuisine at very reasonable prices. Try the delicious Momo dumplings to start or the Bhatta Chiura, crunchy soybeans and crispy rice flakes, served with garlic, ginger and vegetable sauce. The range of mains dishes is impressive and includes plenty of vegetarian options – try the Himalayan Stew or Dal Bhat Tarkari, a traditional Nepalese meal of vegetables, lentil soup, spinach, rice, poppadom, tomato chutney, yoghurt and salad. The meat dishes are hearty – try their Tiun, a traditional Nepalese curry cooked with Nepalese spices and herbs or the Khursani chilli which is served with either chicken, pork, beef or prawns. Or for the pescatarians, their Sekeko Macha (grilled sea bass fillets) is delicious, cooked with black pepper and lemon and served with steam boiled rice and stir fried vegetables.
