Esca is a family run relaxed bistro style restaurant, cafe & wine bar serving freshly made food including a delicious breakfast menu, varied lunches including light bites, sandwiches and main meals, award winning coffee, spirits and wines. An Aperol spritz to make you feel you are in Italy awaits or skinny pina colada for the more exotic!
The evening menu is fresh, vibrant and uses wonderful ingredients. The menu changes with the seasons, however there is always the delicious pinsa romana pizzas freshly cooked in the pizza oven! Latest dishes have included wild garlic & ham croquettes, Herefordshire fillet steak with blue macaroni cheese, red mullet with caponata and crushed new potatoes, scallops with apple puree, haggis crumb and caramelised leeks, duck breast with parmentier potatoes, local Wye valley asparagus and a cherry, red wine and chocolate sauce.
There is also a nibbles, grazers and sharing menu should you just want to chat, drink and relax!
In the kitchen you have Emily overseeing everything with her talented son and chef Sam, who is full of creativity, passion and attention to detail. Alongside them you have Cerys as commis chef who is training at Hereford college to become a chef. She is a star in the making!
Out front you are welcomed by a friendly and welcoming team including Kieran, Emilie, Morgan and Max. All are full of smiles, enthusiasm and a desire to have happy customers.
There are occasional evenings with live music and special menus such as Burns’ Night, Halloween etc.
