Easter eggcitement comes to Ross

Easter is upon us and there is plenty going on in and around Ross-on-Wye this March with events and activities for all ages and interests. From Easter egg hunts to markets, afternoon teas and traditional church services, there is plenty on offer for visitors and residents alike.

We’re particularly excited though with our Easter event right in the heart of Ross! Ross-on-Wye Town Council is holding a family friendly event at the Market House on Saturday 30 March which promises to be a lot of fun. The Great Bunny Bake Off will run from 10am until 4pm during its regular Saturday market and we’re really looking forward to meeting Saku and Tasha, contestants on Channel 4’s 2023 Great British Bake Off competition, who will be attending to judge the baking entries.

The baking competition is open to all ages and anyone interested in entering, can either email tourism@rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk for details or download a Registration Form by clicking here (deadline 6pm Thursday 28 March). The Easter themed ‘Showstopper’ cakes will be judged by a panel including Saku and Tasha, Hilary Wilson (President of the local W.I.), Sue Williams (Chair of Ross Business Association) and Cllr Louis Stark, Mayor of Ross-on-Wye. Gift vouchers for afternoon teas at local independent cafés will be given to first, second and third places.

Alongside the baking competition, there will be a live music programme, including The Voice’s Jake of Diamonds plus Erica JeanNoah Rawlings and Chocolate Teapot, the latter three, performers at the town’s Christmas Fayre. Other activities will include free drop in arts and crafts classes with Sarah Morton from Art Studio Ross, clay-making workshops hosted by Yat Pottery plus wandering bunny characters handing out free chocolate Easter eggs. Food and drink will be supplied by Pantry at FourSoup by T and local microbrewery, The Tap House, and there will also be a number of local traders including arts, crafts and hand made products.
