Linear Arboretum

During 2019 and 2020, Ross-on-Wye Town Council planted 163 sponsored trees in a Linear Arboretum along the riverside. Trees were carefully planned and selected for their biodiversity, including many rare species, to attract visitors, contribute to its conservation agenda and add natural beauty to the riverside. You will find many species from around the world as well as favourite native trees, all labelled on their supporting wooden posts.

Take a stroll from Wilton Bridge along the riverside where the Linear Arboretum stretches along the Long Acre meadow and around Caroline Symonds Gardens next to The Bandstand. Continue following the route towards the canoe launch in front of the Hope & Anchor car park and then follow the loop around the Rope Walk meadow path.
